[show all]A technical malfunction during a live HOH competition in season 7 had certain house guests lights and buzzers unable to work properly. Even with obvious errors, Erica was named HOH. Later that evening Julie Chen presented a new HOH competition over the intercom after producers explained that fairness needs to stay intact for all competitions and therefor the competition needed to be redone. Without lights and buzzers, the competition was presented the old fashioned way where Janelle ended up winning.
