The "new" Xena kills less often than then "old" Xena, but still quite often. In this episode, Xena (in Callisto's body) stabs one of the warlords trying to sneak up behind her, right into the gut with a long knife. In the final fight, she slashes Tegason's gut open with the Sword of Ares and finishes Virilius off by throwing the Sword into his chest. The "new" Xena's body-count after this episode is 58.
While filming the episode ‘Intimate Strangers’, Lucy Lawless fell off a horse and was subsequently badly injured, thus was unable to attend shooting. The script writers were forced to re-write this episode so Hudson Leick (Callisto) could play Xena - with the idea that Xena was still stuck in Callisto's body, from the previous episode. Lucy Lawless has a small appearance in archive footage.
