• Ross Bickell was Loni Anderson's husband at the time of the taping. He was also one of the hopefuls who auditioned for the role of Andy Travis.
• According to a press release, it was so hot at Shadow Ranch Park (where "Baseball" was taped), Loni Anderson's nail polish wilted and Richard Sanders (I) took to lying under a bench when he wasn't needed in a scene.
• Obviously, there was no audience at Shadow Ranch Park; a pre-recorded laugh track was dubbed where a test audience thought certain sequences were funny. (Other WKRP episodes that were produced without an audience include "The Airplane Show," "Real Families," "The Baby," "Bah, Humbug," "Daydreams," "Straight from the Heart," "Circumstantial Evidence" and "Fire.")
