Summary: Kris leaves juvenile detention and is hired by a local trainer to work with horses on a California ranch in dire financial straits. Her hiring is greeted with concern by Jean, the ranch's owner, but with enthusiasm by Jean's son. Things go well until Kris learns that Wildfire, a beloved horse, is to be sold and likely destroyed. Kris then risks being rearrested to prevent Wildfire's sale.
