Summary: Dr. Janus has developed a device which can actually "speed up" evolution. To complete his experiments, he must have a sample of matter from the ocean floor -- from a part of the ocean which is known as a graveyard for submarines. The particle of matter begins to grow and becomes a threat to Seaview and all hands.
