This fast-paced pilot episode featured the Seaview in a race against time to thwart impending tidal waves which would drown most of the civilized world. All of the main elements of the series would be introduced, including Admiral Nelson's scientific expertise, and Captain Crane's adept command of the vessel. This episode just HAD to be good, as it was needed to market the potential series to ABC executives. It worked. When the original screening was finished, the ABC brass gave it a standing ovation! A fan favorite, this is the one that started it all!
