Summary: In some hair twisting turn of events Veronica must betray someone she cares deeply about in order to solve the season-long mystery of who murdered her best friend Lilly Kane. But once she figures out who it is getting the person to confess or the police to believe her will put more people the just Veronica in danger. Meanwhile, on the eve of a reception for the Governor of Calif., Jake Kane asks Duncan if he really wants to know what happened on the night Lilly died. Later, Keith awaits the results of a paternity test. |

Mistakes/Goofs
- Goof (revealing mistake): In Lilly's murder scene flashback, as Aaron is looking around (before he wipes his prints from the murder weapon) Lilly closes her eyes then opens them again.
- Goof (continuity error): In Lilly's murder flashback, her hair moves between shots.
- Goof (continuity error): When Keith rams into Aaron with the crutch, Keith's right hand is down near the crutch's base. In the next shot his hand has moved up near the crosspiece handle.
Trivia
- This was the lowest rated prime-time series to ever get renewed for a second season. It was also the only new drama to survive UPN's 2004-2005 TV season.
- Logan's final shot is of him giving the Neptune biker gang a kung-fu "bring it on" pose. According to Rob Thomas, this was improvised by Jason Dohring during filming.
- (episode #1.22), we see a truck with the name Thomas written on the side, as a nod to creator and executive producer Rob Thomas. Also of note, the flower on the truck is a Lily.
- There is a mugshot of actor/stuntman Thomas Rosales Jr. on the wall of the sheriff's station, it can be seen when Logan calls Veronica on his cell phone.
