Character Bio
He is the history teacher at Mystic Falls High. His wife Isobel had grown up studying paranormal activities and when Alaric thought that Damon had killed Isobel, instead it turns out that John Gilbert sent her to Damon, who turned her. He spends all of his time searching for the vampire who killed his wife, until he finds Damon and learns that Isobel is "alive" and living as a vampire, by choice. He then spends his time searching for her. He teams up with Stefan and Damon at times to kill bad vampires. As soon as he gives up his search for Isobel, she turns up.
