Ugly Betty

Christina McKinney works at Mode, in the closet. Originally Scottish, she escaped from Scotland because of her husband. She says that she didn't escape - she just "never returned".

Season 1 Christina McKinney befriended Betty, and throughout the series they become powerful allies.

Season 2 Christina's estranged husband Stuart arrives from Scotland, in search for her. It is revealed that he needs dramatic and very expensive surgery as he is dying from a liver disease following years as an alcoholic. Christina agrees to help him by finding the money for his surgery. After Wilhelmina and Marc sabotage the vintage dress she was intending to sell to get the money, Christina enters a desperate deal with Wlhelmina, agreeing to carry Wilhelmina's unborn baby as a surrogate, in exchange for the money she needs. It is later revealed that the father of Wilhelmina's unborn child is Bradford Meade, as Wilhelmina obtained a sperm sample from him less than an hour after he died from a massive heart attack.

Season 3 A now-heavily pregnant Christina remains by Stuart's side, who has completed his treatment and has been told that he is indeed dying as his body is rejecting the treatment, leaving him with just months to live. Her life and the life of the unborn child she is carrying, is put in jeopardy when an unknown Mode associate pushes her down some stairs. Christina and the baby both survive the incident, and is later revealed that Alexis Meade pushed her, thinking she was Wilhelmina. Christina goes into labour during New York Fashion Week 2009, giving birth to a baby boy on a cat-walk. The baby is named William Slater-Meade by his "mother" Wilhelmina, but Christina finds herself bonding with the infant. It is soon revealed, to the surprise of everybody, that Wilhelmina is not William's biological mother, Christina is, making Stuart his biological father after Christina slept with him shortly before she was inseminated. After this revelation, Christina leaves MODE and moves back to Scotland with Stuart and their newborn son William.

Season 4 Christina could be returning in the next series with son William, presumably without Stuart as he would've died off-screen from his disease.
