  • Episode 06 - Gus's creator/manufacturer, Baltar, is named after the villain from the original Battlestar Galactica (1978) (and whose Cylon henchman Lucifer is the basis for the character's overall design).
  • Episode 01 - Right after the planet explodes, a painting can be seen in the pile of money on the bridge. It's "The Scream" by Edvard Munch, but the screamer has alien antennae.
