Season 1 Quotes

01x13 - The Road Not Taken Season 1 / Episode 13: - The Road Not Taken

Jake Bohm: We can't help but wonder how much difference one person makes in the world. We look inside ourselves, questioning if we have the capacity for heroism and greatness. But the truth is, every time we take an action, we make an impact. Every single thing we do has an effect on the people around us. Every choice we make sends ripples out into the world. Our smallest acts of kindness can cause a chain reaction of unforeseen benefits for people we've never met. We might not witness those results, but they happen all the same.
01x04 - Kite Strings Season 1 / Episode 4: - Kite Strings

Jake Bohm: In spite of all communication technologies, no invention is as effective as the sound of the human voice.
Jake Bohm: When we hear the human voice, we instinctively want to listen, in hopes of understanding it.
Jake Bohm: Even when the speaker is searching for the right words to say.
Jake Bohm: Even when all we hear is yelling, or crying, or singing.
Jake Bohm: That's because the human voice resonates differently from anything else in the world.
Jake Bohm: That's why we can hear a singer's voice over the sound of a full orchestra.
Jake Bohm: We will always hear that singer, no matter what else surrounds it.

Season 1 Trivia

  • Episode 07 - Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Martin comes across an unconscious diabetic, he is directed (via phone) to administer insulin to the man. This is extremely dangerous; the opposite condition is probably occurring: too much insulin for the sugar in the bloodstream
  • Episode 12 - Goof (continuity error): SPOILER: After Randall gives his car to Martin and Jake, he drives up in the same car when returning to the family for dinner.
  • Episode 01 - Goof (anachronisms): The Irish car outside the pub has stick on magnetic plates, indicating this is not a real Irish plate or car.
  • Episode 08 - Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Jake and the astronaut both come up with "1604" as the length of the isosceles triangle which enabled the main plot line to move forward. However the correct answer should be approximately 1624.
  • Episode 03 - Goof (revealing mistake): The "handwritten" envelope and letter were obviously printed with a computer and inkjet printer using a simulated handwriting font.
