Does anyone know much about this, should be interesting. found some info Australia is the first country in the world to secure the rights to make a local version of the much loved show. “This is fantastic news for SBS, for Top Gear fans and for Australian audiences,” SBS director of content Matt Campbell said of the show that has become one of the BBC’s biggest worldwide hits. As of the end of Feb 2008 SBS still hasn’t chosen the shows presenters but has confirmed that Top Gear Australia is due to air after the Olympics in September 2008. The highly anticipated motoring entertainment program, Top Gear Australia, will debut on SBS Television on Monday 29 September at 7:30pm, ten months after SBS, BBC Worldwide and Freehand TV announced the exciting initiative. The 8-episode series is the first local version of popular BBC program Top Gear to debut and Australian hosts Charlie Cox, Warren Brown and Steve Pizzati have spent the past busy months travelling throughout the country filming a hilarious, fun, informative and locally inspired show. |
