The miniseries is a psychedelic, often twisted and always bizarre postmodern version The Wizard of Oz. DG finds herself trapped in the Outer Zone and she wants to get home. With her also travels Glitch, a man with only half of a brain; Raw, a beastlike man that lacks confidence, and Cain, Tin Man, who seeks revenge for the damage done to his heart.
