According to John Larroquette, he came up with the idea of having the cop read the Miranda rights from under his hat. Larroquette did not want his face blocked by his visor and came up with the idea to make sure his face would be visible.
Jordan Charney plays a character named Mr. Layton in this episode. He would return in later episodes in the recurring role of Frank Angelino, Jack's boss and the owner of the restaurant "Jack's Bistro".
