Summary: Mulder and Doggett are investigating the death of a doctor who was suspected of experimenting with alien impregnation in an arson attack on a genetics lab. They discovered that Billy Miles who has been changed into an alien replicate, is trying to erase all evidence of the tests. Now, together with Reyes and Krycek, they must protect Scully and her baby.

Mistakes/Goofs

Goof (revealing mistake): (at around 36 mins) This hospital exterior shot is the same location used in the previous story in this season, "Alone" (at around 43 mins). The footage for "Alone" was looking to the left of the hospital, and from "Essence" pans from the right (the "Emergency Urgent Care" sign is the giveaway).
