MISTAKES/GOOFS
- FAKE: Mulder notes to his tape recorder that the main lights don't work in the receiver room, but that the instrument lights are still working. After he finds Jorge, the ceiling lights seem to work thereafter. This is especially visible when Moulder records that state of Jorge's body to his tape machine.
- PLOT: In the "Pilot", Mulder reveals his sister "disappeared out of her bed one night... no note, no phone calls, no evidence of anything" and that, thanks to hypnosis, he recalls "a bright white light and a presence in the room" and that he was "paralyzed, unable to respond to his sister's calls for help". However, according to the flashback in "Little Green Men", Samantha was in the living room with Fox, not in her bedroom.
- FAKE: Mulder tells Jorge not to go outside the hut because there is a storm outside. Leading up to this point, the background sound has been that of a seashore, not wind. Arecibo observatory is miles away from any seashore.
- CONT: Mulder is in the receiver room, sitting in the chair and swigging water from a bottle. He puts the bottle down on the table using his right hand, grabs a torch with his right hand and gets up out of the chair with the bottle in his left hand.
- DATE: Samantha calls Fox a "buttmunch". The sequence was to have taken place during the 1970's, and the term "buttmunch" wasn't coined by cultural icons "Beavis and Butthead" until the 1990's.
TRIVIA
- Darren McGavin, star of "Kolchak: The Night Stalker" (1974), which was one of this show's biggest influences, was approached for the roles of Senator Matheson (Mulder's government contact in #2.1 "Little Green Men", #3.1, "Nisei" and #6.9, "S.R. 819") and William Mulder (Fox's dad), but turned both roles down. Eventually, he was cast as Arthur Dales, a retired FBI Agent, for the episodes #5.15, "Travelers" and #6.13, "Agua Mala".
- If you look closely at the papers that both Mulder and Scully print out with the "contact" information on them, one column reads "10.13" over and over again. "10-13" is the name of Chris Carter (I)'s production company as well as his birthday (October 13, 1956).
