Mistakes/Goofs

  • Goof (revealing mistake): When West pulls himself through the window into the Ace Novelty Company, the wall wobbles.
  • Goof (revealing mistake): When Jim climbs through the warehouse window, he grabs the "brick" wall for support, which shakes, revealing that it's a studio set wall that is not braced well.
  • Goof (anachronisms): By the 1850's, the Daguerrotype process had largely been replaced by other processes - its peak years were from its invention in 1839 to about 1849. One of the main reasons for its replacement by other processes were the complexity of the process, the long exposure times involved and the fragility of the plates used. Even at its best, the Daguerrotype process required exposure times of anywhere from one to three minutes, which means that it was wholly unsuited for the snapshot-type of image Artemus used to identify the people at the murder scene - the images of the people would be too blurry or even invisible.

Trivia

  • The speech Artie gives to guide Jim to the source of the sounds is the opening sentence of the Declaration of Independence.
