MISTAKES/GOOFS

FAKE: In the mining town where Dr. Loveless has set up his operation, the "townspeople" are supposed to be dummies constructed by Loveless. In the scene where he and Jim West are talking in the saloon, some of the figures are indeed clearly dummies, such as bartender. The woman at the end of the bar, however, is an extra posing as a dummy (perhaps to save time in constructing so many for this one episode); when West breaks the bottle to use its jagged edge to threaten Dr. Loveless, she blinks - perhaps in response to the sudden noise.

TRIVIA

The tombstone that Dr. Loveless has prepared for James West at the beginning of the episode gives West's birth date as July 2, 1842. Because West and Artemus Gordon were depicted as working for President Ulysses Grant, whose administration ran from 1869-1877, West would have been between 27 and 35 during the series.
