Mistakes/Goofs
- Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): The Quaker character makes many grammar errors by saying "thee" when he should say "thou."
- Goof (anachronisms): Although Dartmouth College was founded in 1769 (one of nine colonial universities), it did not receive academic prominence and national prestige until the 1890s. In the 1870s, it was still a small, poorly funded state institution.
