Summary: From ancient Jericho to Mexico, 1519. Doug and Tony find themselves caught between Hernán Cortés and a golden mask he wants very much. The mask conveys an authority that will permit the conquistador to overwhelm the tribes easily. Now Doug, Tony, and two Aztecs must outrace a group of Spaniards determined to kill them and reach the mask first!

MISTAKES/GOOFS

DATE: In the plot, Cortes is fighting in Veracruz against the Tlaxcaltecs but the natives living there were the Totonacs. The Tlaxcaltecs lived in the central zone of México, not in the Gulf Coast.
FAKE: The Tunnel appears to be extremely long, stretching off to a vanishing point. But as Castillano carries the golden mask out of the Tunnel, his shadow on the back wall reveals that it is only perhaps 30 feet deep, with the back wall painted to look like a tunnel receding to "infinity".
