- Goof (anachronisms): In "Tailor's Magic Needle," as Papa Smurf, Brainy, and Tailor lure the rogue Magic Needle to a haystack, they pass a pumpkin patch and a corn field. However, corn and pumpkins were unknown in Europe until they were imported from the Americas in the 16th-17th century. The background of the Smurf cartoon series is the late Middle Ages (circa 14th-15th century), early for the appearance of corn and pumpkins in Europe.
