Summary: Dr. Sam Abbott, the inventor of a portable laser that functions like a firefly’s chemical light energy, is kidnapped and taken to a crime syndicate hideout in the Everglades, Florida. Steven is given the task of retrieving the missing scientist and to do so, Steve tracks town Dr. Abbott's daughter, Susan, who has the gift of ESP. After Susan senses that her father is in the Everglades, Steve starts to plot a rescue attempt, unaware that they are being followed by four henchmen. As Steve and Susan race to save the scientist, the syndicate work to learn the secrets of Abbott's invention. However, their task is cut made harder when their boat is blown up and Steve and Susan must rely on Steve's bionic implants to get to the syndicate hideout in time.
