Season 23 Trivia

  • Episode 06 - In the scene where Lisa is chasing the dinosaur, she runs past a room with three dinosaurs lighting up cigarettes and smoking. This is a direct tribute to Gary Larson's comic where he suggests the "real" demise of the dinosaurs.
  • Episode 09 - This episode had originally been conceived as a series finale due to the impasse between the show and Fox about how much of a pay cut the show's people should take in order to reduce production expenses.
  • Episode 09 - Goof (revealing mistake): There are only 42 octuplets of the octuplets. If all of the octuplets had octuplets, there should be 64.
  • Episode 09 - Goof (revealing mistake): Despite Edna being killed by Homer, she appears at Lisa's Ultranet Friend Requests.
  • Episode 19 - The episode title refers to "A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again", an essay by David Foster Wallace, about his experiences on a vacation cruise.
