Summary: Homer and Marge go out for a much-needed romantic dinner and leave Bart, Lisa and Maggie with a babysitter named Ms. Botz. Bart becomes convinced that Ms. Botz is actually the Babysitter Bandit, a wanted criminal he saw on America's Most Wanted Armed and Dangerous. Bart turns out to be correct and when Ms. Botz ties him and Lisa up and attempts to rob the house, only Maggie can save them.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

MISC: Homer's voice fluctuates wildly in this episode. Sometimes, he speaks in the Walter Matthau voice (when he is rehearsing what he will say to Marge outside the house), and sometimes he speaks in a voice more typical of later season Homer (in the flower shop).
CHAR: Traffic reporter Arnie Pie appears as KBBL's traffic reporter "Bill" Pie - perhaps a brother with an identical voice?
CONT: In the scene where Bart is first shown sitting tied up on the couch, Ms Botz walks in carrying a tied-up Lisa in her arms and drops her on the sofa alongside Bart. You can clearly see at this point that the the rope Ms. Botz has used to bind Lisa is wound around her whole body from her neck right down to her ankles. When Maggie comes downstairs a couple of shots later and frees the two of them, the section of rope tying Lisa's legs together at the knees has disappeared completely
CONT: When Homer arrives at the front door step in the rain, the candy box and rose in his hands switch places between cuts.
CONT: Homer and Marge's bedroom door opens inwards, yet the door opens outwards when Ms. Botz leaves the room after ransacking it.

TRIVIA

Couch: They all barely fit but nothing unusual happens.
When Bart hides in the basement from Ms. Botz, Marge's bowling ball from episode 1.9, "Life on the Fast Lane," can be seen.
A lip-shaped stain can be seen on the inside of the front door when Homer and Marge leave for their date. This is from the original version of the show where Marge tries to kiss Homer goodbye and he slams the door in her face, making her kiss the door (instead of just stealing her coffee).
At the dance, the band is playing the same tune Homer was singing earlier, when he was getting ready for his date.
Although airing at the end of Season One, this episode was written first. This is why Santa's Little Helper doesn't make an appearance.
