Summary: Bart tries to impress Jimbo Jones and his friends by stealing the head of the Jebediah Springfield statue in the town square. The townspeople are devastated by his act of vandalism and only Homer can help him return the head to its shoulders and fend off the angry mob.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

FAKE: When Bart is cutting off the head of the statue, he is sitting on the statue's right shoulder. But Bart doesn't appear in the shadow of the statue as the camera pans out.
CONT: When Bart sneaks into the cinema, he forgets to take his skateboard in with him and doesn't retrieve it after he's ejected. It reappears in subsequent episodes without explanation.
MISC: When the angry mob is chasing Homer and Bart through the streets, in one shot, Dr. Marvin Monroe appears to be animated twice.
MISC: The colors on the desert island painting above the Simpson couch are switched. The island itself is colored in blue, and the sea is colored in a sandy color.
CHAR: After the boys leave the Kwik-E-Mart, Bart asks the bullies where they got all the stuff. Jumbo replies, "5 finger discount, man." Every character on the Simpsons only has 4 fingers on each hand.

TRIVIA

Sofa gag: Bart pops out and lands in front of the TV.
The look of Sideshow Bob hasn't been established yet, as he has an afro hairstyle, rounder nose, a pudgy body, a different Sideshow necklace and an armband.
Among the members of the angry mob that chases Bart and Homer through town are Patty, Selma and Grandpa Simpson.
The first episode that mentions Jebediah Springfield.
First and possibly only utterance by Bart on his skateboard of "cowabunga" in the series. For years many of the crew thought it was a line just added to T-Shirts out of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles craze.
