Summary: After years of being picked on by Nelson, Bart and other kids from Springfield Elementary decide to fight back. With the help of Grandpa and one-armed Herman, the kids attack Nelson and his buddies with water balloons until he agrees to sign a cease fire treaty.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

CONT: Lisa's school friend Janey Powell makes her first appearance in the series in this episode, but looks completely different - especially that her race seems to have been changed - to her subsequent appearances.
CHAR: Herman misspelled "Kwik-E-Mart" as "Quick-E-Mart" on his map of Springfield.
CONT: Marge's pearls change color between shots.
CONT: At the end of the episodes when the Nelson's goons are holding on to Nelson, they both have black skin color. But in the next shot, one of them has yellow skin color again.
CONT: During exterior shots of the Simpson home in this episode, the tree house is never shown. Yet the tree house is used extensively in this episode.

In Herman's model of Springfield, he misspelled "Kwik-E-Mart" as "Quick-E-Mart".
This episode ends with a disclaimer featuring Bart in a library telling the viewers about the reality of war and saying that the only good wars are The American Revolution, World War II, and the Star Wars trilogy and advising viewers to go to the library and look up info about war. Also the end credits roll over an exterior shot nighttime of the Simpsons' home instead of a black screen.
This is the first episode that John Swartzwelder wrote. He has written more episodes than anyone in the show's history.
The opening title sequence was edited down to a bare minimum due to the episode running long; only the title and the first aerial shot of Springfield are shown. Most of the usual opening credits are missing, including the creator, developers, producers and writer.
