The title comes from the song "The Rain in Spain" used in the Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe musical My Fair Lady (1964). The original Broadway production of "My Fair Lady" opened at the Mark Hellinger Theater in New York on March 15, 1956, and ran for 2717 performances.
