Summary: Thinking that he'll be put into foster care, Ryan attempts runs away from the Cohens, but is stopped when Seth figures out his plan. However, Seth doesn't want to lose his only friend, so he hatches a plan to keep Ryan in Newport. Seth, with the help of Marissa, hides Ryan in an unfinished home in Kirsten's newest housing development. However, Luke and his friends discover the plan, resulting in a bloody brawl between Ryan and Luke. Meanwhile, Sandy and Kirsten find Ryan missing, resulting in more arguments about Sandy having Ryan stay with them.

FACT: During this episode, Jimmy Cooper explains to his wife that the out-of-season basketball game he is watching on ESPN Classic is the 1986 NBA Finals Game 7 between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Detroit Pistons - however, the 1986 Finals was contested between the Boston Celtics & the Houston Rockets.

TRIVIA

When Marissa, Ryan, and Seth are driving to the Model Home in Marissa's car, they are listening to the song 'I'm a Terrible Person' by 'Rooney'. In a future episode the gang will attend a Rooney concert.
According to this episode, Summer's birthday is August 13th.
During the filming of the Ryan/Luke fight scene in the model home 'Benjamin McKenzie' was supposed to fake trip, but he actually tripped and ended up falling through a real window. Luckily, because of the leather jacket Ben was wearing for the scene, he was unhurt by the broken glass.
