Seven years after The Avengers ended, ITV launched The New Avengers. It tells the same sort of tales - elite British agents called on to deal with the nastiest criminals. This series focused a little less on the truly bizarre and more on Steed's past as an operative. Together with the younger agents Purdey and Gambit he takes on menaces to himself and to England from all over the world.

I'd rather have shot them in Los Angeles, which at least has an identity, but Canada always looked like Milton Keynes with snow."
