Michael Fielding (II) (who plays Naboo) is the brother of Noel Fielding (who plays Vince).
When Dixon Bainbridge ('Matt Berry') commands the mutants to get back into their cage he calls one of them "Ayoade". This is a reference to Richard Ayoade, who originally played Dixon Bainbridge in the pilot episode and stage shows.
This episode contains footage from the un-broadcast pilot. Because of this, Vince's hair changes colour a few times. (See goofs)
The hat worn by Vince (Noel Fielding) in episode 1.8 'Hitcher' is the same one worn by Johnny Depp when he appeared in "The Fast Show" (1994)
