I am absolutely LOVING this show, but it seems that the series has been cancelled. Which is really too bad as it has kept me entertained on so many different levels. There are many LOL parts throughout, and the allusions, OMG, the allusions to other tv shows, movies, people, events...there are way to many for me to catch the first time through, so I usually end up watching the episode a second time! Keep in mind, my expectations weren't that high when I read the description, so I was pleasantly surprised by the unique way this show was put together. I had to LOL at the appearance of the 'black bars', but it fit the whole theme of the show. This is a 'whole-family' show and one that I am really going to miss. This was a great and next quirky show with some simple but good effects, great one lines and plenty of in jokes. I thought this was going to be a kiddie show but there are some good under currents of adult humour in there. I have also only watched the first show so far but it is shaping up to be one to watch. If you are looking for some no brain old style comic book hero fix then this is the one for you. I hope this does not get cut. |

Pilot is VERY good (A-) but may be trying to be too many things without being any at all. American marriage of Doctor Who, Torchwood and Sarah Jane with The X-Files. Writing is clever and at times really on point, however the actors seem to be having a hard time remembering their lines or having trouble keeping a straight face. (Probably both.) Success will depend on the ability of the writers and the “ABC Family Channel” to keep it original and not let it get high school-syrupy like Kyle XY did. That being such high bars for American TV, I doubt it will succeed with its objective. I’ll keep watching, as previous reviewer said, “for now.” --- After trying to sit through episode 2, couldn't do it. Brits do it better. Sorry! |
