The Mentalist centers around Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) a man who uses his powers of observation and knowledge of the human animal as he works as a consultant / investigator to solve crimes attached to a unit of the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI). His methods are not always transparent and this sometimes causes misunderstandings with his boss Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney).
