Mistakes/Goofs

Goof (plot holes): When Deacon gets thrown out by Kelly and he comes over to the Heffernan's, he stated it was hard to get a cab in New York as a black guy with no shoes. A few moments later, he asks Doug to borrow money because Kelly threw him out without his wallet. How would Deacon get to the house in a cab with no wallet?
