Hey, I stumbled on this on my space and thought I should share with other fans. Check out what coleman luck has been doing at his web page (colemanluck.com). To jog your memory, coleman luck was a writer and producer on The equalizer and wrote most of the episodes. Looks very cool. |

I wonder if anyone else out there recalls that the whole idea of "The Equalizer" was published as a Western serial in one of the British comic books back in the 1950's? I don't remember what his real name was supposed to be, but The Equalizer was a wealthy man who advertised in the US newspapers of the late 1800s, with the following text :- "If your quarrel is just, but the odds are too great, send for The Equalizer" Just about identical, huh? The only episode of which I have a clear memory, concerned a township threatened by a gang of outlaws. The Equalizer turned up, looked at the problem, and sent back East for a special consignment, which arrived by train a couple of days later. He opened thebox and took out a Gatling gun, with which he proceeded to wipe out the outlaw gang. Replace the train with FedEx, and the Gatling with, oh I dunno, probably a Kalashnikov (although a helicopter gunship would be more in the right scale of comparative firepower), and you have the TV version. Why, I womnder, has this prior art never been acknowledged? Or have I missed something? |
