When Gene Siskel died in February 1999, Roger Ebert did a half hour tribute to his partner on their show and included a clip of their singing duet from this episode.
Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert had a policy of refusing to do cameos in movies and on television shows because they felt it would be a conflict of interest. Yet they relented for 'The Critic' because they were fans of the show.
