Summary: In this first part of the two part series finale, Theo prepares to graduate from college, and even though each graduate is only supposed to get two tickets, he manages to get ten extras. Vanessa shows up with Dabnis, who she's bringing as her guest, but claims that they are only friends. Olivia gets ready to move to Singapore to live with Martin and Denise, and as a graduation present, Theo will be going with her. Theo has been worried by the way that Cliff has been acting, but Clair reassures him that she and Cliff are only very proud to see their son that used to struggle in school finally graduate.

Theo: Yes, I guess he is. Come in, Kenny.
Kenny: [gives him a present] Happy graduation.
Theo: What is it?
Kenny: Open it.
Theo: [sits down on the sofa and opens it] Kenny, these are tube socks. They come in six pairs.
Kenny: Actually, five.

Kenny: I'll go get some tape to fix that door bell. We don't want our guests getting possessed. Walks out the door and closes it behind him.
Theo: Okay.
Theo: Dad, you invited Kenny? I told you there are no more tickets.
Cliff: Aw, come on, Theo. Kenny is like a mother or sister... he's like the brother you never had.
Theo: There's too much people and there's not enough tickets.
Cliff: If there's not enough, then uninvite him.
Theo: But the boy gave me tube socks.
Cliff: Well, then give him a ticket.

TRIVIA

The last show of the series.
Cliff rang the doorbell and danced Claire off the stage to the song "If I Were a Bell" (from "Guys & Dolls"). This scene was totally improvised. The doorbell was a running joke throughout the final season.
This was the only TV program that interrupted the coverage of the Los Angeles Riots on the local NBC station, as this was the show's finale. At the end of the show was a plea from Bill Cosby to stop the violence on the streets.
