The Cisco Kid
TV Series (1950 - 1956)
Early syndicated Western that was one of the first television shows to be filmed in color. Based on characters created by O. Henry, the series dealt with the adventures of the Robin Hood like bandit, the Cisco Kid (Duncan Renaldo) and his sidekick, Pancho (Leo Carillo). Strangely their horses Diablo and Loco were almost as popular as their humaan riders. Yet few images of them exist today.

[show]In the 1953 season star Duncan Renaldo was injured in a rock fall and hospitalized, resulting in his missing nine episodes. To cover for Renaldo's absence on the show, the Cisco Kid was shown wearing masks, disguised as a ghost and in other situations where a double could be used for him and footage of him that had been previously shot but not used was also used. He recorded his lines from his hospital bed.
