Summary: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wakes up from a 32 year coma, but is called a traitor when he believes the US shouldn't go to war in a post 9/11 world. With the help of Huey, Dr. King must redeem himself and lead African Americans again.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

CONT: When Huey and Dr. King are trying to get past the bouncer, Huey's sweater changes color from black to red several times.
DATE: This episode is apparently set shortly after 9/11. However, MLK talks about Soul Plane (2004), which didn't come out until 2004.

TRIVIA

Reverend Al Sharpton publicly criticized Aaron McGruder and Adult Swim for this episode. Sharpton felt that depicting Martin Luther King using the word "nigga" would "desecrate black historic figures". He demanded a public apology and threatened to stage a protest against Time Warner, Adult Swim's parent company. McGruder spoofed Sharpton's criticism in subsequent episodes and in the comic strip the show is based on.
