• Goof (anachronisms): A woman is being questioned during jury selection. It would have been highly unusual for a woman to serve on a jury in California in the 1870s. Although California women were given the right to vote in 1911 and did serve on some juries at that point, it was not until 1917 that a law was enacted in California allowing women to serve on juries.
