Penny: You really didn't like it, Sheldon?
Sheldon Cooper: No, on the contrary. I found the Grinch to be a relatable engaging character. I was really with him right until the point where he succumbed to social convention and returned the presents and saved Christmas. What a buzzkill that was.
Leonard Hofstadter: When we watch Frosty the Snowman, he roots for the sun.
Sheldon Cooper: Excuse me, but the sun is essential for all life on Earth. Frosty is merely a bit of frozen supernatural ephemera in a stolen hat. A crime, by the way, for which he is never brought to account.

Mistakes/Goofs
- Goof (continuity error): At the bar when Penny and Beverly are drinking and Penny orders the final shot, she drinks it as soon as it's poured. The angle changes and the shot glass is suddenly filled again, even though no alcohol is poured into it, allowing Penny to drink it again before they leave.
Trivia
- In the beginning of this episode Penny, Leonard and Sheldon are watching The Grinch. Christine Baranski plays a role in this movie, and in the Big Bang Theory she acts as Leonard's mother.
- The title refers to the visit of Leonard's mother.
