The Apprentice is a television franchise that originated in 2004 in the United States. As originally conceived, the show depicted a group of 15-18 businessmen and -women competing in an elimination-style competition for a one-year, $250,000 job of running one of host and executive producer Donald Trump's companies.

[hide] - The contestants had to keep their cell phones on speaker to make sure they weren't cheating by using connections made prior to the show or by making private phone calls.
- The boardroom is on the same floor as the suite the contestants are staying in. So the contestants don't take an elevator up as Donald tells them to.
