MISTAKES/GOOFS

FACT: If Sarah's blood-type is O-negative, then it is impossible for her to have a son that is AB-negative. Assuming that Kyle was AB-negative like Derek, then John could only be A- or B-negative; not even O-negative. Also, either John or Sarah should have been able to give Derek her blood, as she is a near universal donor, Derek is a near universal acceptor and they all have the same Rh factor.
FACT: Reese needs AB negative blood. John is tested and serves as a donor, but as his mother has 0 negative it's impossible for John to have AB.

TRIVIA

In the future, the character Andy Goode uses the alias "Billy Wisher"; a reference to William Wisher Jr. who co-wrote and had cameos in the first two Terminator films.
Sarah's closing narration, outlining how a terminator can not be deterred from its mission, was indeed said by Kyle to Sarah in the first Terminator movie. Kyle did say, "the terminator is out there," rather than, "the machine is out there," but after all those years, Sarah can surely be forgiven for not getting it verbatim.
During the future sequence, we see one of the T-600 Terminators that was described by Kyle Reese in the original The Terminator (1984) as being easy to spot because they had rubber skin.
