TRIVIA

The Episode "The King" (Episode 16) from Season 1 is a close adaptation of the Donatello One-Shot published in 1986 by Mirage Comics. The character named Kirby is in fact comic creator Jack Kirby (co-creator of the Fantastic Four, the New Gods and X-Men).
First and so far only episode to have an alternate ending. Laird, the co-creator of the series disliked the original ending of this episode. So extra money was spend on animating a longer and more satisfying ending for "The King".
