Summary: Stardate: 50132.5 Voyager is unexpectedly attacked by a ship from the future. The 29th century Federation “Timeship” has been sent to destroy Voyager and its crew, as they are told their ship will be responsible for a temporal explosion that will destroy Earth’s solar system in the 29th century.Voyager disables the timeship as it is attacked, but is then sucked into a temporal vortex created by the timeship, which brings them to 1996 Earth.The crew must find a way back to their own time, find out how they may have caused the temporal explosion in the future, while at the same time not affecting the events of the past they are currently stuck in.

Only mention of the word teleport anywhere in the Star Trek franchise, when Starling exclaims, "They are trying to teleport the ship!"
When Rain Robinson's computer crashes, it displays a Fatal System Error #0047, another appearance of the number 47 in the Star Trek universe. The phone number for Chronowerx Technical Support is 1-800-ON-HOLD.
In-joke about the Star Trek Communicators, right after Harry Kim receives the "Greeting from Earth" message from Rain Robinson he proceeds to contact the away team on the surface. As the Captain's Communicator beeps all of the people walking past the away team immediately reach for their cellphones to answer them. This was probably a reference to the similarity of 1990's cellphone design and technology to the "futuristic" flip-top Communicators from the Star Trek Original Series.
Janeway refers to late 1990's computer technology as "stone knives and bearskins" per Spock in "Star Trek" (1966) {The City on the Edge of Forever (#1.28)}.
The cockpit of the "Aeon" would later be reused as the cockpit of Entharan starship in "Retrospect" and as Kes's starship in "Fury".
