Summary: Stardate: 48546.2 With the reality of their situation setting in, Captain Janeway tries to think up some ways to better relate to a crew that finds itself a long way from home. Continuing their long journey to Federation space, the ship comes across a nebula where omicron particles have been detected. With the chance that they could be used as a fuel source, Janeway sends Voyager into the nebula to harvest them. However, the nebula turns out to be an organic life form, and is injured by Voyager's presence in its body. Facing attack, the crew desperately tries to break free from the entity's defensive systems in order to get out alive.
