![]() | Season 7 / Episode 25: - Endgame, Part 1 Captain Janeway: Any idea where they lead? Ensign Harry Kim: Not yet, but if just one of them leads to the Alpha Quadrant... Tom Paris: Who knows, Harry. Might take us right into your parents' living-room. Captain Janeway: Alter course, Mr. Paris. Captain Janeway: [to Kim] Ensign, when you speak to your mother, tell her we may need her to move the sofa. |
![]() | Season 5 / Episode 20: - Think Tank Security Chief Tuvok: According to Seven of Nine, the Hazari pride themselves on honouring their agreements. Ensign Harry Kim: Great. Bounty hunters with a work ethic. |
![]() | Season 5 / Episode 18: - Course: Oblivion Captain Kathryn Janeway: We're gathered here today, not as Starfleet officers, but as friends and family, to celebrate the marriage of two of Voyager's finest. B'Elanna has asked me to forgo the rigors of Klingon painsticks in favour of a more traditional ceremony. Ensign Harry Kim: They're saving the painsticks for the honeymoon. |
![]() | Season 5 / Episode 17: - The Disease Ensign Harry Kim: I'm violating about half a dozen regulations by just being in this room. And what we did earlier... I don't know if Starfleet even has a regulation for that. |
![]() | Season 5 / Episode 17: - The Disease Ensign Harry Kim: Seven, you've been around humans for a while now. What do you think about... love? Seven of Nine: We're scanning for microfractures. I don't see the relevance. Ensign Harry Kim: Just curious. Seven of Nine: Parental love, romantic love, affection between friends? Specify. Ensign Harry Kim: Romantic love. Seven of Nine: An attraction based on sexual desire, one that facilitates procreation. Ensign Harry Kim: I guess I'm asking the wrong person. Seven of Nine: Not at all. The Borg have referenced this condition in over 6,000 assimilated species. Ensign Harry Kim: Condition? You make it sound like a disease. Seven of Nine: Physiologically, it bears a striking similarity to disease. A series of biochemical responses that trigger an emotional cascade, impairing normal functioning. Ensign Harry Kim: Forget it. [chuckles] |
![]() | Season 5 / Episode 17: - The Disease Derran Tahl: Problem? Ensign Harry Kim: Stray radiation from the nebula. I thought it was the proximity alarm. Derran Tahl: You said we had a couple of hours. No one's gonna come looking for us. Ensign Harry Kim: Now you don't know Commander Tuvok. If he sees one electron out of place, he calls for Red Alert. |
![]() | Season 5 / Episode 17: - The Disease Derran Tahl: [pushing a button] Navigation? Ensign Harry Kim: Oh, oh, careful! That's the weapons array. You know, you almost vaporized your living quarters. Derran Tahl: Oh! Well, they could use a good cleaning. |
![]() | Season 5 / Episode 17: - The Disease Ensign Harry Kim: It's an old story - boy meets girl from the wrong side of the galaxy, boy loses girl. Derran Tahl: And girl loses boy. |
![]() | Season 5 / Episode 17: - The Disease Ensign Harry Kim: Do me one favor. Derran Tahl: Anything. Ensign Harry Kim: The next time you run across a class 3 nebula - think of me. |
![]() | Season 5 / Episode 14: - Bliss Seven of Nine: [Watching the viewscreen] A wormhole. Ensign Harry Kim: *The* wormhole. It leads all the way back to Earth. Seven of Nine: The odds of finding such a phenomenon are infinitesimal. Captain Kathryn Janeway: Never bet against the house. |
![]() | Season 3 / Episode 25: - Worst Case Scenario Ensign Harry Kim: So what's this, Ayala tells me about a new holo-novel? Lieutenant Tom Paris: [laughs embarrassed] Get in line, Harry. |
![]() | Season 3 / Episode 21: - Before and After Ensign Harry Kim: So how does it feel to be a grandfather? Lieutenant Tom Paris: A lot better than it does to have you for a son-in-law. |
![]() | Season 3 / Episode 20: - Favorite Son Ensign Harry Kim: [on B'elanna, who got severely injured] Is she gonna be alright? The Doctor: Yes. Another patient snatched from the doors of death. |
![]() | Season 3 / Episode 20: - Favorite Son Lieutenant Tom Paris: I don't see what's so bad about being you. You're good at your job, everybody likes you... Ensign Harry Kim: Being likable is fine, but sometimes I wish I could be more... bold, confident with women, more like you. Lieutenant Tom Paris: Like me? You might want to reconsider that, Harry; there could be prison time involved. Actually, since I've been on Voyager, I've tried to be more like you. Ensign Harry Kim: That'll be the day! |
![]() | Season 3 / Episode 20: - Favorite Son Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres: Harry... What happened to your face? Ensign Harry Kim: We're still trying to figure that out. Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres: It's kind of cute, makes you look like a speckled targ. |
![]() | Season 3 / Episode 20: - Favorite Son Malia: It's true male children are very rare here; and that we seek out new DNA to sustain our race - or new males of other species, like you, who can be transformed into compatible mates. Ensign Harry Kim: Transformed - that's what these genes are doing to me. Malia: You'll be celebrated for your contribution. Ensign Harry Kim: Don't count on it! |
![]() | Season 3 / Episode 14: - Alter Ego Ensign Harry Kim: Hi. My name's Harry read-me-like-a-book Kim. |
![]() | Season 3 / Episode 14: - Alter Ego Ensign Harry Kim: That's Kal-toh, isn't it? Vulcan chess? Lieutenant Tuvok: Kal-toh is to chess as chess is to tic-tac-toe. |
![]() | Season 3 / Episode 14: - Alter Ego Marayna: Are you two friends? Lieutenant Tuvok: No. Ensign Harry Kim: Yes. |
![]() | Season 3 / Episode 14: - Alter Ego Marayna: There is a luau tonight. You are coming, aren't you? Both of you? Lieutenant Tuvok: No. Ensign Harry Kim: Yes. Marayna: You've got to stop doing that. |
![]() | Season 3 / Episode 14: - Alter Ego Ensign Harry Kim: [trying to get his mind off Marayna with Tuvok's help] Logically, the best course is retreat. Meditation helps. Lieutenant Tom Paris: Retreat! A classic case of Vulcan denial, if you ask me. |
![]() | Season 3 / Episode 14: - Alter Ego Lieutenant Tuvok: To the trained Vulcan intellect, intense romantic love is nothing more than a set of stereotypical behaviors. Not having our discipline, typically Humans are swept along by the process until it ends. Ensign Harry Kim: How does it end? Lieutenant Tuvok: Either in conversion to a more balanced, stable relationship, or in tragic circumstances. |
![]() | Season 3 / Episode 14: - Alter Ego Holodeck Woman: May I join you? Lieutenant Tuvok: No. Ensign Harry Kim: No. Lieutenant Tuvok: But... thank you. |
![]() | Season 3 / Episode 8: - Future's End, Part I Neelix: Take a look at this: it's a form of entertainment called a 'soap opera'. The exploration of human relationships is fascinating. Ensign Harry Kim: Hm. I can't imagine just watching the story and not being a part of it. Kes: That's because you've been spoiled by the holodeck. There's something to be said for non-interactive stories like this being swept away in the narrative. |
![]() | Season 3 / Episode 2: - Flashback Captain Kathryn Janeway: It was a very different time, Mr. Kim. Captain Sulu, Captain Kirk, Doctor McCoy - they all belonged to a different breed of Starfleet officer. Imagine the era they lived in: the Alpha Quadrant still largely unexplored, humanity on verge of war with Klingons, Romulans hiding behind every nebula... Even the technology we take for granted was still in its early stages: no plasma weapons, no multi-phasic shields - their ships were half as fast. Ensign Harry Kim: No replicators; no holodecks. You know, ever since I took Starfleet history at the Academy, I always wondered what it would be like to live in those days. Captain Kathryn Janeway: Space must have seemed a whole lot bigger back then. It's not surprising they had to bend the rules a little. They were a little slower to invoke the Prime Directive, and a little quicker to pull their phasers. Of course, the whole bunch of them would be booted out of Starfleet today. But I have to admit: I would have loved to ride shotgun at least once with a group of officers like that. |
![]() | Season 2 / Episode 21: - Deadlock Captain Kathryn Janeway: Is something wrong? Ensign Harry Kim: I'm not sure. I mean - this isn't really my ship; and you're not really my captain, and yet you are, and...there's no difference. But I know there's a difference - or is there? It's all a little weird. Captain Kathryn Janeway: Mr. Kim - we're Starfleet officers. Weird is part of the job. |
![]() | Season 2 / Episode 12: - Resistance Ensign Harry Kim: Captain, are you all right? Captain Kathryn Janeway: I'm fine. |
![]() | Season 2 / Episode 9: - Tattoo Ensign Harry Kim: Doc, I don't feel so good. The Doctor: Neither do I; and you don't hear me complaining. |
![]() | Season 2 / Episode 7: - Parturition Ensign Harry Kim: Stay out of harm's way. ["old Chinese expression"] |
![]() | Season 2 / Episode 7: - Parturition Ensign Harry Kim: [about Paris and Neelix] I'm sure they'll both be fine. Kes: Unless they kill each other. |
| Previous: Lieutenant Tom Paris | Next: Lieutenant Tuvok |
