MISTAKES/GOOFS
- FAKE: In the opening battle with the Maquis, when the Enterprise disperses two of the ships with phaser fire, space appears to be shaking.
- CONT: Picard tells Ro two years ago Starfleet would have never considered sending her on a mission for them. She later tells the Maquis she fell out of favour with Starfleet three years ago.
- CONT: Ro says she lost her Starfleet commission after an incident on Jaros II. It was actually Garon II.
- CONT: Ro Laren is promoted to Lieutenant just before this episode from her previous rank of Ensign. The next rank after Ensign is Lieutenant Junior-Grade (signified by one gold and one black collar pip) yet we see Ro is wearing two gold pips, signifying the rank of full Lieutenant. The only way this is possible is if Ro was promoted twice, but the episode makes no mention of this, only that she was promoted to Lieutenant, and back in "Star Trek: The Next Generation" (1987) {Rascals (#6.7)}, she was still an Ensign in that episode. It is very unlikely (especially given her spotty Starfleet record) that Ro would be promoted so quickly in such a short time, and therefore she should've been wearing only one gold and one black pip, not two gold pips.
TRIVIA
- The only time the Maquis appear in TNG. We get to see the DMZ too, after being established in DS9, and TNG episode #7.20.
- Klingons, Vulcans and Native Americans as village extras was a subtle suggestion towards the cast lineup on the soon to begin VGR.
- The last Bajoran and Cardassian story in the series.
- We see an Indian on one of the Maquis ships. Its possible he's from Dorvan V, the colony from episode #7.20 that Starfleet handed over to the Cardassians. Which may be why he joined the Maquis.
- Macias was named after a Cuban freedom fighter in Cuba's War of Independence from Spain.
