MISTAKES/GOOFS
- FAKE: When Deanna is being chased by the wolf, she flees into a room whose automatic doors shut behind her. When the wolf jumps up against the "solid metal" doors, they flex inwards.
- FAKE: Picard says that Lwaxana Troi's journal entries were deleted almost 30 years ago. However, the stardate 30620.1, on which the journal was started, suggests rather that this happened less than 17 years ago.
- FAKE: When Picard is reviewing Lwaxana's journal and reveals that "there's a seven-year gap," the gap hasn't even begun to become evident on screen. As the dialog between Picard and Troi progresses, Picard continues to scroll through a list of deleted entries. Picard calculates the length of the gap and figures out the stardate of the last deleted entry well before he ever scrolls to it.
TRIVIA
- Hedril is played by an 11 year old Kirsten Dunst, a year before she became famous with Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994).
- Split-screen shots against a blue screen were used to allow people to interact with the wolf, which although trained was still dangerous. Kirsten Dunst petted a stand rather than the wolf, with the animal matted in later. The wolf's growl was achieved by giving it a lick of a meaty bone, then filming its reaction when a trainer moved as if to take it.
- Majel Barrett last appearance on the show as Lwaxana Troi. She would make two further appearances in "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (1993), and still continue to do the voice of the Enterprise computer.
- One of three episodes where the Enterprise Bridge isn't seen at all.
- The only time in the show where Lwaxana appears without Mr Homn. Carel Struycken was expected to appear, but he was unavailable.
