MISTAKES/GOOFS

FAKE: Ronald B. Moore is mistakenly credited with an initial "D" in the end credits. This confuses him with writer and producer Ronald D. Moore.
CHAR: At the beginning of the episode, Lt. Worf says the Enterprise has been hit on its port warp nacelle, but we see it hit on the starboard nacelle.

TRIVIA

In early drafts, the psionic resonator was much more powerful, capable of killing millions of people at a time
SPOILER: Picard assumes the name Galen on the alien ship, which is the same name as his old archaeology professor from episode 6.20.
Several place names and objects throughout the episode are all a homage to previous episodes.
After Data reprimands Worf in the Ready Room, he imitates Picard's habit of tucking in his shirt when standing up (commonly referred to among fans as the Picard maneuver).
This is one of only two episodes where Captain Picard is never seen in his Starfleet uniform.
