Kivas Fatjo was named after the commonly traded gem "kivas" in "The Trouble with Tribbles" (1967), and "Star Trek:TNG" crew member Lolita Fatjo.
When Wesley and Geordi are in Data's quarters, one of them lifts up the covers to one of Data's paintings. The image on the painting is that of the top view of the energy vortex the Enterprise was caught inside of in "Star Trek: The Next Generation" (1987) {Time Squared (#2.13)}.
David Rappaport (I) was to have played the villain in the episode "The Most Toys" but committed suicide before filming began.
The title of the episode "The Most Toys" refers to an old adage: "Whoever dies with the most toys wins."
